Where can I buy Yumiko dancewear?

Yumiko dancewear is only available here at our on-line store or through a small number of select retailers. If you are a professional or student dancer with one of the many companies and schools in which there is a YumiGirl, they will be able to assist you and your colleagues in placing your own group order.

Why isn't Yumiko available in many dance supply shops?

Because all Yumiko pieces are currently made to order and it's difficult to offer retailers the quantity of pieces they would need to keep their shelves stocked. In 2007, Yumiko will be introducing a special line of pieces specifically designed for retailers. Our aim is to offer retailers their own special line of basic and signature pieces which they can be proud to present.

Why does it sometimes take so long to receive an order?

Unfortunately, because of Yumiko's fast growing reputation for quality, fit, and creative choice, more and more people are ordering and sometimes (especially during the holidays, beginning of the new school season, spring, and just before summer workshops) we do have a hard time keeping up. The only thing we can do besides continuing to hire and train more people is to ask you for a little patience and try to make your wait well worth it.

Why are there no refunds?

Each piece is made according to the customers choice of color & fabric combination and unfortunately we can't take the responsibility for people's creativity, so we don't offer any refund on custom made orders. However, if we make a mistake in the production of the order, we will remake your piece correctly, so long as the piece received has clearly not been worn or washed. There is a 14 day period from the date the order was received to notify us of any mistakes.

Why are some colors no longer available?

In order to keep a large and changing selection of colors available, we quite often stop with certain colors in order to make room for new ones. Due to the fact that we don't use large amounts of any single color, it's not possible to make large batches since they cannot sit on the shelves too long without loosing their quality. If a certain color you order runs out or is on back order we will let you know as soon as possible in order for you to choose another color.

How can I be sure I'm ordering the right size?

The best way would be to try something on, but because this is not always possible, we have thoroughly tested our sizing chart and are very confident that if followed every piece will fit accordingly. Keep in mind, regardless of the size chart, some models fit better on certain body types. Know your body! If it's your first time ordering Yumiko then maybe try a model you are familiar with to know what a Yumiko should feel like. If like how a Yumiko fits, then go for it and order the model you really want. We want you feel great first and look great first, too!

How can I best take care of my Yumiko pieces?

The best way of taking care of your Yumiko pieces is to first read the care tag sewn inside your pieces. Don't mix them with your normal laundry, washing them by hand in cold water with mild detergent, right after wearing it would be best. Lay your piece flat to dry on a drying rack.
