I Wonder if I Could?
Yumi grabbed a sketchpad and began drawing a design for a leotard. Not knowing how to make a pattern she experimented, cutting up some fabric until she finally had an form to work with. Over the next few days, the leo gradually began to take shape. She'd try it on, run to check herself out in the bathroom mirror, then take it off to make adjustments. This went on until, to her amazement, she had actually created a really cute outfit that fit better than anything she'd ever bought off the rack.

She wore her debut effort to class wondering if anyone would notice. Long story short, not only did they notice, they all said, "Hey, make me one too!" So Yumi began designing and sewing more outfits to give as birthday and Christmas presents. She learned what people liked by trial and error and endless personal fittings. Being a perfectionist at heart, Yumi was determined that every outfit she made would fit like a second skin.
A Store is Born!
As her dance career flourished with the Dutch National Ballet, so did her newfound passion for clothes making. She created everything from basic dancewear to dramatic performance costumes. With each completed garment, Yumi's confidence grew. She honestly loved what she was creating. Her handmade dancewear was sleek, fresh and yes, ... sexy.
